Facilities Management
Working at Height

One of the many challenges for Facilities Managers is how to safely and efficiently manage Work at Height, while also ensuring compliance with Regulations and Standards.

Achieving this is not rocket science, but it does rely on a good understanding of the issues and on good communications between all parties involved.

Autumnal Services Limited provide commercially independent support and advice to FMs.  The fundamental principal to our approach is to get the specification right.  This should be a performance specification, based on the competencies of those who we are expecting to undertake the work.  With our unique competency categorisation, we can provide performance specifications which should not be diluted in the way that common work at height specifications are.

We can assess your staff and contractors to determine their level of competency in Work at Height, which coupled to a performance specification for each work at height zone, means the right workers can be selected for each job improving safety & compliance.

This approach also provides for improved knowledge and reduced time and errors in starting work in each zone.

It also allows for a more cost-effective planning approach to training and procurement of work at height systems.

Below is a summary of what Autumnal can do:
  • Survey & Consultation - to establish what work needs to be done and how it can be done safely and efficiently
  • Design & Specification - to ensure an appropriate scope of works is generated for safe access & protection systems
  • Procurement Support - to act as a Competent Client for safe access & protection systems
  • Installer Audit - to ensure solutions supplied are safe and compliant with specification and standards
  • Training Management - to review needs and to select suitable trainers for staff and/or contractors
  • Contractor Liaison - to ensure contractors are suitably competent and prepared for work on your premises
