Access via service lift to 6th floor.

Up one flight of stairs to standard door out on to roof

Door is locked with key

Door does not open from outside, so should be restrained in open position while workers are on roof

Roof lights should be considered as fragile

Each worker will require skill, knowledge & experience with the following equipment and also have unrestricted use of it:

Full body harness

2m energy absorbing lanyard

Latchways Transfastener Device (will be issued on site and must be returned)

There is no foreseeable need for rescue if the approved working technique used

Primary Evacuation - In the event of an emergency, workers should exit the roof by the access route and descend stairs to RVP

Secondary Evacuation - If access route is obstructed, workers should await rescue by emergency services

Casualty Evacuation - It should be possible for an emergency team to evacuate a casualty on a stretcher by the access route

Light weight - safely carried

Medium weight - man-handled slowly due to stairs

Heavy weight - hoist from ground floor (approx 20m)
